The RVIPF Marine Unit are responsible for the prevention and detection of crime within the Virgin Islands territorial waters, Border protection and enforcement, and the investigation of all marine related offences. To achieve these tasks the unit operates with a modern 55ft patrol vessel (St Ursula) and smaller vessels.
In addition, the unit is involved in joint operations with Her Majesty’s Customs, the Immigration Department, Conservation and Fisheries and various departments in Government.
Regionally, a number of joint operations are staged with U.S. law enforcement authorities.
Local and Overseas training are channeled through:
- UKSAT (UK Security Advisory Team)
- RSS (Regional Security System)
- REDTRAC (Jamaica)
