Royal Virgin Islands Police Force

Locations

At present the Royal Virgin Island Police Force has eleven police stations or posts placed strategically around the British Virgin Islands.

Road Town, Tortola

The main Road Town Police Station is located on Station Avenue public road, east of the Botanical Garden, opposite the AO Shirley Recreation Grounds and adjacent to the Althea Scatliffe School.

From the stop lights on Station Avenue Public Road the Road Town Police Station is located at the end of the road on the right hand side.

The station may also be accessed on Pickering Street. When approaching from the direction of the Supreme Court, International Motors and Popeye Service Station, the Station is located on the right at the junction of Pickering Street and Station Avenue Public Road.

Police Headquarters, Tortola

Police HQ house the office of the Commissioner of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police and supporting management functions.

Police HQ is located on Waterfront Drive within the Sir Olva Georges Plaza opposite the Road Town Ferry Terminal.

West End, Tortola

The West End Police Station is located on the West End Public Road.

From the direction of Road Town (heading West towards Sopers Hole/Frenchman's Cay) continue past the Zion Hill junction (marked by Big Ben's Gas Station on the right), the station will appear on your right directly opposite the basketball court.

From West End (from the direction of the West End Ferry Terminal or Sopers Hole) the station appears on your left after two speed bumps.

Cane Garden, Tortola

Cane Garden Bay Station is located on Cane Garden Bay Public Road, opposite Rhymer’s by the Sea Hotel.

The Cane Garden Bay Police Station is accessed from the east traveling from Meyers and Soldier Hill area by descending the hill into Cane Garden Bay and traveling west wards on the cane Garden Bay Public Road. The station will be found on the left hand side of the road approximately 100 metres after passing Quitos Bar.

The station can also be accessed from Carrot Bay by traveling east up through the Windy Hill Public Road then turning left at the top of Windy Hill Road down into Ballast Bay and onwards to Cane Garden Bay. The station will be found on the right hand side of the road approximately 100 metres after passing Bobby Supermarket.

Long Swamp, East End, Tortola

East End Police Station is located at Long Swamp, next to the old East End Post Office, across from Waltsco Good Meal Square Deal and at the intersection of Blackburn Highway Public Road and Little Dix Public Road.

The station can be accessed from the North West (Ridge Road) by turning right at the top of Fort Hill Public Road on to the Belle Vue Public Road and continuing through Hope Hill, down to Jennings Hill on to Little Dix Public Road.

It can be accessed from the airport via Beef Island Bridge onwards through Chapel Hill and Major Bay areas to the junction at Greenland Public Road, Little Dix Public Road and Blackburn Highway Public Road.

Access to the station from the direction of Road Town is gained by passing through Brandy Wine Bay, Paraquita Bay, Hodges Creek and Meyer Cove areas. When entering the main East End thoroughfare, the station can be found on the left hand side of the road at the Junction of Blackburn High and Little Dix Public Road.

Airport, Beef Island

The RVIPF has a small office at the Terrence B. Lettsome International Airport.

This is located on the 2nd floor of the main terminal building.

Marine Base, Tortola

The Marine Base is located at the Road Reef Marina (Road Town) opposite the Yacht Club and next to TMM Yacht Charters.

From Road Town heading towards the West End of the island, the base is located after 'The Pub' (on the left) and 'Fort Burt' (on the right) - when you pass these there will be a sharp right bend in the road. Approximately 100 metres further on is a left turn immediately before the entrance to a shopping mall car park - follow this road.

Anegada

The Anegada Police Station is located on the Settlement Public Road in the same compound as the Fire Station, Public Works Department and the Anegada Rock Iguana rehabilitation Habitat.

The Anegada Police Station is accessed from the government jetty heading east to the round-a-bout. Turn right at the round-a-bout and driving at normal speed it will take you to The Settlement in about 10 minutes. The station is in a two storey complex which also houses other government offices.

The Station is also accessed from the airport by heading north out of the airport and taking a left at the first junction. Then drive at normal speed for about two minutes to a junction. At this junction a left turn should be taken on to the Settlement main road. Two to three minutes driving will take you to the Station which will be on the left hand side of the road.

Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke

Jost Van Dyke Police Station is located within the administration building (which also houses Customs) in Great Harbour JVD. When exiting from the public ferry (which leaves from West End Ferry Terminal) into Great Harbour the station can be found by taking a right turn off the dock. On arrival at a junction a further right turn should be taken into the heart of Great Harbour. The total distance from the ferry landing to the station is around 0.25 miles (5 mins walk).

The Valley, Virgin Gorda

Virgin Gorda Police Station is located on the Lee Public Road opposite Super Valu Supermarket and next to the Public Works Department.

Access to the Virgin Gorda Police Station from the St.Thomas Bay Jetty (ferry terminal) is made by following the road straight from the jetty and taking a right at Speedy’s Corner on to the Lee Public Road

Traveling on the lone airport road for a 1.5 mins will bring you to the Valley Police Station which is location on the left hand side at the end of the airport road.

North Sound, Virgin Gorda

The North Sound Police Station is located on North Sound Public Road.

It can be found about 4 buildings below the North Sound Post Office and four buildings above Church of God of Holiness.
