How do I apply for a Police Certificate?
A certified statement of the applicant’s criminal record (the Police Certificate) is usually required for employment, immigration, and banking purposes.
This document is prepared upon request and applicants are required to provide the following:
- A completed application form (see attached PDF form)
- Applicant’s valid Passport
- One (1) passport sized picture
- A ten dollar ($10.00) processing fee
Applications are accepted Monday through to 12:00 noon on Thursday. (Monday through to 12:00 noon on Wednesday if a holiday falls on a Friday)
The normal processing time for Police Certificates is approximately two (2) days.
Applications should be submitted in person to the RVIPF Administration Unit, located within the main Road Town Police Station, Tortola. Residents of Virgin Gorda can also submit (again by personally attending the police station) applications to the main Valley Police Station.

How do I obtain a Visa Waiver for travel to the US?
The via waiver is required by holders of B.V.I. Passports to facilitate traveling to the mainland United States, via the U.S. Virgin Islands, without the need of a travelers Visa. Persons using this document to travel cannot travel to any other country, only to the Unites States.
Applications are accepted Monday through 12:00 noon on Thursday. (Monday through to 12:00 noon on Wednesday if a holiday falls on Friday) The normal processing time for Police Certificates is approximately two (2) days.
To obtain this document, the applicant must provide the following:
- A completed application form (see attached PDF file)
- Applicant’s Valid Passport

How do I obtain a Police Report?
A police report can be obtained (usually for insurance claim purposes) in cases of vehicle accidents, lost or stolen items from property, etc.
Applications are accepted Monday through Friday, during the normal working hours. There is a processing period of three weeks.
The requirements for obtaining this document are:

- A ten dollar ($10.00) processing fee

How can obtain copies of my fingerprints?
Ink fingerprints are sometimes obtained by individuals for employment, immigration, certificate of character purposes, etc.
Applications are accepted Monday through Friday, during the normal working hours. Fingerprints are lifted the same day of the request at a processing fee of $10.00 per sheet.
The following are required to obtain this service:
- Valid Passport
- A ten dollar ($10.00) processing fee
